YACAN SIERRA LEONE
A non-profit youth led organization and an advocacy institution set-up by young people in 2005, which maintains its focus as a youth lead and Child focused advocacy organization, creating platforms for children and Youth as we gain prominence in Child protection, Gender, Education, Youth in Governance and Emergency response. We believe change is possible through equal opportunities among Boys and Girls, peaceful engagement through dialogue to save the next generation of youth and Children.
To robustly promote advocacy, encourage social inclusion, engage the Government, the international community and our communities on key issues surrounding child protection issues, capacity building and strengthening and advancing social development for youth and children at all level in Sierra Leone through rights based approaches to increased advocacy, strategic engagement for policy and behavioral change.
YACAN envisage a society that is free from all forms of discrimination and abuse against children and youth, the foundation for sustainable peace and economic growth, health, education, human rights and security in Sierra Leone.
